In breaking news, the Bermagui Gelati Clinic has announced a major sponsorship of the Bermagui Blue Balls.

Called Bermagui Gelati Scoop of the Week the accolade goes to the Blue Ball who stays in the water the longest each week.

Each week’s frozen winner will receive a voucher for one scoop of Bermagui's finest homemade gelati.

Bermagui Blue Balls human thermometer 83-year-old Clyde Watt out-froze his fellow swimmers to win this week’s Bermagui gelati scoop award for his endurance in the water.

Clyde's secret was exposed when fish food was discovered in his speedos revealing his strategy of attracting all things scaled in Blue Pool.

The feeding frenzy not only kept Clyde warm but very happy.

For the remainder of the season, swimmers are asked to meet at 9am each Sunday at Blue Pools to talk about swim locations.

Remember to bring your togs, courage and sense of humour.

The Narooma Numnutz winter swimmers meanwhile also on Sunday were greeted with balmy 22-degree water for their first swim of the 2014 season on Sunday.

It was also sunny, maintaining the perfect record of no rainy days ever in the club’s seven-year history.

The boys and girls had a leisurely swim from the meeting place on the southern end of Bar Beach across to the shark net and back.

The swimmers were impressed to be served butterscotch snaps instead of the usual Bundy rum, then it was back to O’Briens Hotel for a delicious pair of soups, chorizo and bacon, served by the Raw Prawn Bistro.

As is tradition on the first and last swims, the swimmers then sat down for a card game of Chase the Ace.

The swimmers welcome all at their swims every Sunday at 9am – just head down to the far car park at the southern end of Bar Beach, Narooma.
