DURING the school holidays all the libraries in the shire hold regular school holiday activities and today Narooma Library hosted make a fantastic firefly activity.

Library officer Ursula Kelly had 20 people participating in the activity and they all were engrossed with the crafted fireflies.
There are other activities on at the Narooma Library during NAIDOC week which runs from July 7 to 11.
On Friday, July 11 there is a SPUR artist floor talk with Alan Solomon an Aboriginal artist from Wallaga Lake who enjoys wood carving and painting local south east scenery. His art is currently on display at the Library.
Between 12 noon and 4pm on the same day there is a traditional weaving workshop where participants will be able to experience techniques of traditional weaving and string making as used by Aboriginal people of South Eastern NSW. Vikki Parsley will show how to make a coiled basket using local native grasses, feathers and fibres.
