Well, local Tuross Head angler angler Pam Feeley came oh so close just before New Year’s.
Once again she was successful catching another massive flathead in Tuross Lake on a live ‘poddy’ mullet, late arvo on December 28.
“Friends and I decided one last cast with a poddy. I said mmmm this feels a little bit heavy this fish and low and behold it took off like a Bondi tram,” Pam explained.
“My drag was screaming and away she went, took a bit of time to slow her down.
Anyhow to cut a long story short it was 99 cm and very heavy, and the President of the Tuross Fishing Club witnessed me fighting the fish and once again we released the flathead.”
Well done Pam, and I am sure you will get that 1m fish one day – and excellent job releasing the big girl as all large flathead should ALWAYS be released!
