The Classic and Fancy Car Show at Narooma Motors on Saturday was such a success that organisers are definitely going to try and move it to one of the town’s ovals next year.
Narooma Motors owner Peter Howe said there 400 to 500 people through all day looking at the 24 vehicles entered into the show.
“We couldn’t have had any more and there was no space around the shop for even one more,” Mr Howe said.
He was now going to see if there was enough interest in moving the show to one of the town’s ovals and making it a much bigger event. This was the second time Narooma Motors had put on a classic car show.
The winners were as follows:
- - First Prize: Barry Andrews with his 37 Ford.
- - Second Prize: Rolf Leek, 57 Chevrolet.
- - Third Prize: Richard Trew, 64 Falcon.
- - Motor Bike prize: Steve “Betto” Betteridge with his Dyna Street Bob.
Local Ann Christiansen from Mystery Bay took along her Datsun 1000 and said it was a great day.
“It was a terrific day with an amazing turnout. Only slight rain in the morning, clear and fine after that.”
