Narooma has had success in the NSW Country Surf Life Saving Championships held at South West Rocks last Saturday, with Joe Halsey coming out on top in the running events.
Halsey was one of more than 4000 athletes who converged on the NSW Mid North Coast for the event.
He placed 1st in the beach sprint, having had a blistering start off the line and leading from start to finish.
Halsey also raced in the two-kilometre beach run held on Sunday morning and again led from start to finish.
He ended up winning by 100m, the first placing giving him his second gold medal for the championships.
Halsey also competed in the water in the ski race, finishing a close 4th and just missing out on another medal.
Halsey will be heading to the NSW state surf life saving titles in the coming weeks where he hopes to be among the medals.
