A treasured gift from a father and husband they lost, a North-West woman has made a plea on social media to try and find her son Braxton’s hat that was lost while flying between Sydney and Launceston on Monday.

Katie Peden took to Facebook to try and locate the ‘Kings’ snap back which was lost after taking Jetstar flight JQ749 from Sydney to Launceston.

Mrs Peden lost her 26-year-old husband Bryn Donald Peden in a motorbike crash in Canberra in March, 2016.

“Normally I would let it go, but this hat has so much sentimental value to us, as it was given to our son by his father, (my husband) who tragically passed away in an accident a year ago,” Mrs Peden posted on Facebook.

“Hopefully if someone has picked this up, they can see the sentimental value it has to our family and will contact me to return it.”

Mrs Peden wrote that the hat could have possibly been misplaced at gate 54 or 55 at the Sydney Airport or on the aircraft itself.

They were sitting in row 29 of the aircraft.
