
Mystery fence – Someone mysteriously placed a 4-metre section of fence and an Australian flag in the middle of the roadway at Sunset Boulevard, Kianga sometime between 8pm Saturday and 4.30am Sunday. The section of fence was ripped out of a nearby yard.
Accident investigated – A 39-year-old local man crashed his car into a tree on Coolagolite Road at about 11am on Saturday. He was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Police are awaiting the results of blood tests and continue their investigation.
Theft attempt – Unknown persons attempted to break into a car parked on Attunga Street, Dalmeny setting off a car alarm. They disappeared quickly.
Shire vandalism – NSW Police are investigating deliberate damage to the grounds of Kianga Sewage Treatment Plant. Vandals have twice scaled the plant’s perimeter fence in the night and sprayed red paint over the buildings and trucks, poured oil over the driveway, and discharged fire extinguishers. The laundry was broken into and laundry powder and paper towel strewn around the plant. Staff members were left to clean up the mess and paint. This is the third community asset to be damaged by vandals in a matter of weeks, with the playing fields at Tuross Head’s Kyla Park Oval destroyed by hoons and a mural at North Broulee defaced with graffiti. Parking notice – A parking infringement notice was issued to the driver of a vehicle that allegedly parked too close to the intersection of the Bermagui Road and Princes Highway at Cobargo at 10.45am on Saturday, blocking the view of other motorists causing a safety hazard.
