Some 32 bowlers enjoyed Monday’s sunny conditions with a slight cross breeze with Dipper Ron and Punter Alan organising the cards and raffle with the highest winning margin again being selected as the game decider. Winners on 37 were Bob PD and the Adams family boy from the runners-up on 17 in Hottie Jones, Cobber Peter and Shark Finn.

The fine weather continued for 38 on Thursday with the highest winning margin as the game decider. Winners on 17 were the Done-rods Lynne and Ray with that card Ace from the runners-up on 14 in Margaret Ponder and the Dr. McKenzie’s kids Bruce and Maureen.

In the 1st round of the major pairs championship the pairings skipped by a Fitter Marty, Shark Finn, Torf Asdads, Wayne B-sitting and John Jnr. all had byes while cobber Dudley and Punter Alan got away with a great start against Ex. Painter Dicko and Peter Hit-holden leading 11/0 after 5 ends then staying there for 3 ends, as they did on 14 while the opposition scored 8, staying on 16 for 4 ends, 17 for 4 ends allowing their opponents to equalise before scoring 2 on the last end to win 19/17.
Graham or Brett and skip Gospeller Bob also got away well leading Bruce Cover-outs and Steal Coulson 10/3 after 7 ends, but never headed with the scores 18/8 after 12 and 16/15 after 18 before scoring a big 6 on the 20th end and winning 23/16 after 21 ends.
Snoopy Leigh and Shoe-man Dave had a better start against Sienna Don and Packman Ace leading 12/1 after 5 ends but their opposition had other plans equalising 15-all after 15 ends but Leigh and Dave finished the stronger scoring 7/3 over the last 6 ends to win 22/18.
