The Narooma Net Set Go team, the Shooting Stars played an amazing game against the mini waves this week. Both teams showed great skill and enthusiasm.
Players Libby, Claire, Emily Spooner, Bridie and Topaz all did some perfect passing and spectacular shooting. Second year players, Lilly Mahoney and Meah Beecham have managed to push one another and help their team mates improve and do their best.
This week’s team Captain Chloe Bartulovich received a voucher from the Tilba Lolly Shop. Coaches Emily Hudson and Piper Smith were very proud of the girls and how hard they have worked and improved since the first training. But most importantly everyone, including coaches, had heaps of fun!
It's was the weekend for the local derby between the Narooma Seahorses and Narooma Novas Net Set Go teams. The Seahorses ended up with a well-deserved victory. The game was played with wonderful spirit and great fun was had by all of our club's youngest players.
At 12.30 the Narooma Comets played the Bodalla Bullets. The Comets came out firing, holding a slight lead at the half time break, but losing a bit of momentum in the last quarter eventually losing to Bodalla 19-15. The outstanding players were Grace and Brodie with consistent precise passing and great accuracy under the net.
The Narooma Nightmares came up against the Bodalla Bombshells. Both teams had great attack and defence but Bodalla came home stronger, winning 44-29. Elli was Captain this week, receiving a voucher from the Tilba Lolly Shop.
She played an outstanding game, as always……it doesn’t matter where Elli plays, she always puts in 110 per cent effort, during a game and at training. She was a star in goal attack, centre and goal defence! Sienna shone in her positions this week, playing centre, goal attack and wing attack. Hollie also played a noteworthy contest in wing defence and wing attack.
The Narooma Flames played the Broulee Bombs. The first quarter was a hard fought affair with both sides determined in defence and attack. Broulee took a slight lead into the first break. The Flames bounced back in the second quarter with some good set plays and communication.
Our girls really stamped their authority on the game in the third quarter taking a six goal lead and setting them up for victory. In the final quarter Broulee made a valiant effort reel in Narooma’s lead but it wasn’t to be as our girls held on for a 17 – 13 victory.
In the Net Set Go Skills group Eva, Ilah, Carlie, Ruby and Jasmine love their time spent on the courts learning important skills and having heaps of fun with their coaches and new friends. Netball had better be ready for when these girls are old enough to play in the competition. They will be magnificent!
Unfortunately the Narooma Sapphires under 11s had to forfeit. What a shame!
