The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning, with gale force winds for the Batemans and Eden coasts, on Tuesday, June 6.
A low pressure system is expected to form offshore as a cold front moves over the Tasman Sea, causing strong winds to develop.
Winds up to 60 to 70 kilometres per hour, with peak gusts in excess of 90 kilometres per hour, are possible along the coastal fringe from early this afternoon.
Winds are expected to ease late this evening as the low moves away to the northeast.
