Food shares and swap events are springing up throughout Eurobodalla and Bega Shires. They are all about community – a group of like-minded people who gather to share the abundance of their garden produce, to encourage people to start growing food and to enjoy a friendly social morning tea.
Tilba Food Share meets on the first Sunday of each month, except January, at different people's properties from 10am to 12 noon.
The food swaps are a great way to meet your neighbours, catch up on the local news, and sticky-beak at other people's gardens, and come home with fresh produce whose food miles are close to zero.
You are welcome even if you have not yet started growing food – all gardeners know the importance of finding someone to take their glut of produce.
The next Tilba Food Share will be at 44 Maher Lane on Sunday, September 3 – please come along!
