His Excellency the Governor of NSW said it was always a pleasure to visit South East NSW, a unique and beautiful part of the state.
“It’s meeting the people who make these communities so vibrant that I enjoy the most,” Governor Hurley said. “From the school children, volunteers, healthcare workers and local industry, it’s a privilege to learn about the work they do.”
During the three day tour, the Governor will meet volunteers from the local Red Cross Hub in Narooma, as well as members of the Eurobodalla Youth Committee.
While in Narooma, he will also visit the town’s War Memorial at Club Narooma to dig up soil for a display in the new extension of Anzac Memorial in Hyde Park.
He is also scheduled to hear about the important work done at Katungul Aboriginal Corporation and Medical Services and will visit the Katungul offices in Batemans Bay.
The Governor will also visit local businesses including Tilba Real Dairy and a proposed oyster hatchery site in Moruya.
“Local business is the backbone of any community so I look forward to hearing about the industries driving these coastal regions,” Governor Hurley said.
The visit will take place from Tuesday, August 15 to to Thursday, August 17.
