It started with a conversation among old friends and Batemans Bay locals back in early 2016, who were living in different regions throughout NSW.

The discussion established a goal to run an annual charity event where these mates could get together, have a game of cricket, and raise some funds for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) research.
The inaugural 2016 event saw two teams from Bathurst and Batemans Bay come together to battle it out for bragging rights, but more importantly, to raise much needed funds.
The outcome was an overwhelming success, with over $4500 being raised for this vital charity.
This year’s event is setting the bar even higher, with a fundraising target set at $10,000.
MS is a currently incurable neurological disease that affects the central nervous system.
It interferes with messages sent between the brain and other parts of the body.
Over one million adults are affected world-wide, including 23,000 Australians, numbers that are climbing every day.
MS Research, with the help of Kiss Goodbye To MS (KGTMS) fundraisers such as this annual cricket event, is working towards freedom from this disease.
So make sure to set aside Saturday, September 16 to lend your support for this great cause.
The day is sure to be a brilliant event, as the match between the Cavaliers Old Boys of Batemans Bay and St Pats Old Boys of Bathurst will be a cracker.
The event will also have raffles and silent auctions, a longest hit competition, live music, barbecue and bar facilities, a Country Womens’ Association cake stall and plenty of entertainment for kids.
Additionally, an after-match function will be held at the Hanging Rock clubhouse where players, families, friends and the community are welcome to join for dinner, entertainment, and games.
All proceeds from the day will go towards the KGTMS Charity Fundraiser.
The organising committee looks forward to welcoming you this great day planned at the Hanging Rock Sporting Complex in Batemans Bay.
Feel free to drop by, pull up a chair, enjoy a sausage sizzle, watch some great action and contribute towards finding a cure for MS.
If you can’t make it on the day and would still like to contribute to the fundraising effort, you can make donations through the Kiss Goodbye to MS website.
The match will begin at 9:45am at Hanging Rock Oval, with the after-match function starting at the end of play.
