River of Art – a signature cultural event on the South Coast’s tourism calendar – is calling out for volunteers to help create and deliver another exciting festival in 2018.
River of Art Chair, Robin Scott-Charlton, said the energetic team of volunteers was looking for artists and people with an interest in the arts to join them, either on the committee or as supporters and friends of the festival.
“This is an opportunity for enthusiastic individuals to bring new ideas and skills to the River of Art’s program, as we shape our 2018 festival,” Robin said.
We’re also on the lookout for artists and arts lovers with strong community connections, experience in program development, event management and volunteer coordination
River of Art is driven by the Eurobodalla’s creative community and showcases a dynamic lineup of both local and visiting artists and performers.
“We’re especially keen to find talented volunteers who can help us promote the festival through social media and our website,” Robin said.
“We’re also on the lookout for artists and arts lovers with strong community connections, experience in program development, event management and volunteer coordination.
“Anyone interested in being involved in this vibrant festival is welcome to contact us via our email address riverofartinc@gmail.com, or through our Facebook page www.facebook.com/riverofart2018/.
“The River of Art Committee is in a great position to build on the success of our 2017 festival, which attracted record attendances and boosted tourism to the South Coast.
“We now have guaranteed NSW government funding for another two years through Destination NSW, plus strong support from the Eurobodalla Shire Council, South East Arts, the local arts community and local businesses.”
Three back-to-back South Coast Regional Tourism awards celebrated the festival’s success.
The River of Art Festival features live music, theatre, film, textiles, visual arts and crafts, literature, performance, poetry, storytelling, as well as community and cultural celebrations.
