On September 20, the club held its monthly competition at Club Narooma. The set subject for the month was “Landscape”, with judging conducted by past-president of Narooma Camera Club, Dave Cotton.
Dave’s insightful critiques regarding composition and lighting provided valuable feedback on the submitted entries. One notable winner on the night was new member Brian Tilley who took out a Gold Award for his lovely image titled Water Window.
Dave followed the judging with an interesting and informative presentation on monochrome landscapes, pointing out the importance of composition, texture, leading lines, lighting and contrast.
We then projected photos that some of our members took at the Batemans Bay BMX meet on Sunday, August 20.
The results of the competition were as follows:
Division A – Open category:
Gold award – Shirley Gunter – Starlit Heavens
Silver awards – Brian Gunter – Pallarenda Beach; Ivan Finlay – Wildflowers Mt Stillwell
