Club Trust Narooma held a successful open day with at least 45 people visiting to find out more about the local hub that provides activities and care for the area’s disabled residents.
The open day on Wednesday, October 25 was well attended by families wanting to know more about the service, while the Narooma High School support unit students also stopped by to find out more.
Club Trust is currently located in the Tara apartment complex and can be accessed from the Princes Highway, just look for the Disability Trust sign on the car park entrance fence.
Anyone who has NDIS plan is eligible to be served by Club Trust, which is a division of the not-for-profit Disability Trust organisation. There are now similar Club Trust hubs in Moruya and Batemans Bay.
Club Trust Narooma is a local hub for centre-based activities and a portal for accessing the Narooma community. Activities include art and craft, music, movies, digital media/computers, games, socialising with friends and more.
Participants have regular access to the Narooma community, enjoying local walks and sightseeing, lunch at local cafes, picnics and barbecues, photography, shopping, fishing, library and gallery visits, attending special events and connecting with locals and tourists.
The Disability Trust has provided services for people with a disability for more than 40 years and merged with Work Ability in 2010.
Work Ability has supported people in the Narooma community for the past 26 years in employment and community activities.
Disability Trust has a commitment to creating an inclusive world for people with disability, providing them with individual and group support in all areas of life.
The participants at Club Trust Narooma recently paired up with the Animal Welfare League to make handmade cards that could be used to raise funds and thanks supporters.
