Narooma police and Ambulance paramedics were kept busy at a rave party at Narooma on Saturday night, treating several young people for suspected drug overdoses.
Police were called to the “bush doof” party at the old quarry area adjacent to the Brou landfill just north of Narooma.
Officers made numerous proactive patrols and decided to stay at the location through the night until the crowd dispersed early in the morning on Sunday. Numerous young people were given move-on directions after the party ended and the crowd spilled out onto the Princes Highway.
Ambulance paramedics were required to treat a number of young people, who were in a semi-conscious state due to suspected drug overdoses.
Police say while the crowd was generally well-behaved, there were several instances of antisocial and aggressive behaviour.
A 26-year-old male youth was arrested for malicious damage to a police vehicle and possessing cannabis while a 14-year-old male was charged with offensive behaviour, resisting arrest and assaulting police.
