NAROOMA MEN

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 2: A very good field of 137 players enjoyed fine conditions and quickening greens where the DSR emerged as a consistent 72. In A Grade Eddie Harvey, off a handicap of 11, came out on top with 39 points, followed by a group of six on 37 points, with Clive Williamson and Mark Anderson taking the placings and David Bennett, Scott Kennedy, Glenn Mood and Graham Kerr missing out.

The top position in B Grade was filled by Robert Coulson with 37 points off his handicap of 16, followed by Dennis Fry who headed Paul Davey on countback with 36 points, with Chris Bowles from Riverside in Essendon missing out. In C Grade Shawn Farrell from Riverside recorded 39 points off his handicap of 25 to win by one point from Terry Pickles and Geoff Broadfoot.

The nearest-the-pin winners were Neil Rutherford from Bermagui on 3, Colin Pratt on 9, Don Waterfield on 14 and Glenn Mood on 17, while the ball competition went down to 33 points.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 4: An excellent Saturday field of 141 played Stableford to a consistent DSR of 71. In A Grade Peter Ward had a fine round off his handicap of 9 to register 40 points, one ahead of Phil Haynes who headed Michael Turner on countback. B Grade was won by Colin Pratt with 39 points off a handicap of 15 on countback from Colin O'Sullivan, while Match Committee stalwart Paul Ingamells took third place one point further back on countback from Bill Swan.

In C Grade Tony Reid recorded the best score of the day with 41 points off a handicap of 26, followed by Perry Pericleous on 40 and derek Smith on 39 points. The nearest-the-pin winners were Matt Corbett on 3, John Goodrich on 9, Ken Adams on 14 and Laurie Holmes on 17, while the ball competition went down to 33 points with 18 on the way home.

Preparations are being finalised for the Narooma Open next weekend where a field of 215 will take to the course, a number which was reached two weeks before entry closing date. A further 164 players will participate in Friday's Fourball.

NAROOMA LADIES

MONDAY, OCTOBER 30: The ladies played a Stableford competition and the winner was Judy Anderson with 36 points.  Ris Cheale was Runner-Up with 36 points, Julie Whyte was 3rd with 33 points and 4th was Diana Crawford with 32 points.

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 1: The ladies played in a fun event leading up to their annul presentation dinner.  The "Stringy Cup " is a Stableford event played over 12 holes and the rules include the use of a roll of string, a throw, and a kick of the ball. The winner of the Stringy Cup was Heather McMillan with 42 points. The Runner Up was Trish James with 40 points on countback from Julie Whyte and Jenny Walker was 4th with 38 points.

The four ladies who had "Holes in One" were Heather McMillan, Judy Anderson, Dagmar Kastowsky and Marea Clarke. Balls went to Tina Wilson, Jan Boxsell, Val Spooner, Chris Hendra. Judy Anderson, Mary Young, Margaret Brown and Robin Giblet.
