The orange life rings also known as Angel Rings kept getting stolen from wharves and fishing spots around Far South Coast NSW.
Tuross Head Fishing Club secretary and Australian National Sportfishing Association member Max Castle has just replaced the Angel Ring at Preddy’s Wharf, Moruya.
He also provided one at Nelligen boat ramp/pontoon a couple of weeks ago as well, and provided two to the Eden Fishing Club last week.
If anybody in the community has seen Angel Rings, that are clearly in the wrong spot, such as an outdoor barbecue area, patio or garden area for decoration please contact your local police or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000, he said.
“The rings are installed by ANSA members and are funded by the recreational fishers licence fees for the safety of all the community. The rings are stamped advising they are provided by the trust and they have an ANSA badge on them - that's the evidence the Police would be looking for if further action was to be taken.”
