Up the Snowy Mountains staying at Smiggin Holes the Dalmeny Narooma Bushwalkers spent last week enjoying every day. Monday, we did not walk but watched the snow falling. Overnight the ground had turned white from the snow and the regular day falls between the sun shining was beautiful.

Our first walk was down at Thredbo on the riverside walk from Dead Horse Gap to the old chairlift to Charlottes Pass and ranger station.
On Friday we walked to Mt Stilwell and then across to the ruins of the top station chairlift and Stilwell Restaurant. Wednesday, we did our walk to Porcupine Rocks which provide good views over Thredbo River. Our Illawong Lodge and 40m long foot suspension over the Snowy River was a joy.
A keen group of bushwalkers led by Steve Deck then attempted the Little Twynam. The crossings of snow drifts made the walk longer and harder, however the 360-degree views made it all worthwhile.
Bushwalkers are reminded to put their names down for the Christmas Party to be held on the last Saturday in November.
