Member for Eden-Monaro Dr Mike Kelly and Eurobodalla mayor Liz Innes attended and toured the facilities.
Dr Kelly also announced a $2650 in funding for the Narooma Men’s Shed for health improvement activities such as healthy cooking programs to address food safety requirements.
Narooma Men’s Shed president Wal Sheehan and MACS president Colin Berry also spoke at the official opening. MACS members also held stalls offering their art and craft at the Men’s Shed complex.
Mr Berry said the purpose of the activities were to celebrate the coming together of two local community organisations on the one site.
“The event demonstrates the synergy and spirit of cooperation that exists between the two community organizations providing a central facility in which the members can pursue their active hobbies and interests,” he said.
“A wide selection of activities are available including art, ceramics, pottery, textiles, life drawing, woodworking, metalworking and horticultural pursuits.
“The current facility has the potential, over the next couple of years, to grow the membership, add more activities and provide a lot of fun and enjoyment to all.”
MACS studio and activities were previously located in the School of Arts cottage in Midtown Narooma.
