This Sunday, December 3 will see the Dalmeny Boardriders (DBR) take to the water for their final competition day of 2017.

The Dalmeny Boardriders Club has returned to the Narooma sports scene this year with great success and a big response from local surfers and their families.

It was always going to be a risk when DBR president Matt Hoar and a few other keen surfers had the idea of reviving the old Montague Boardriders Club.

It has been many years since Narooma surfers have been able surf competitively and it was unknown if the call out for interested participants would be heard.

However the revival has seen a resurgence within the local surfing community.

The DBR comp days have brought together young groms who are just starting out and keen to learn more about the sport, along with more seasoned surfers who have been sharing their experience and knowledge of surfing with the younger participants.

Sunday’s surf forecast is calling for a full day of consistent swell from the north east, which will certainly provide enough waves for the day.

Surfers are encouraged to sign themselves up prior to Sunday via the liveheats.com/DalmenyBoardrider website. Surfers need to be at Kianga Main Beach on Sunday at 7.30am for a safety briefing.

The Dalmeny Boardriders will be hosting their end of year dinner at Club Narooma straight after Sunday’s event. All are welcome to join in for some refreshments and talk about the best waves of the day.
