The Narooma Dog Training Club had its outdoor Christmas party rained out on Saturday, December 2, but it still held a “mostly people” celebration in the Uniting Church Hall where end-of-year trophies were presented.

It was a nice gathering to honour the champions for the year of hard work by the dedicated instructors.
Pam Rowley, a Canberra and Bodalla resident, attended with border collie Rollo, who won the Arnie Memorial Countrylink Agility Trophy. This was donated by Peter Nelipa in honour of his previous dog Arnie.
Amanda Doust of Narooma with border collie Flo won the Trish Carty Memorial Rally O Trophy – Advanced level. Trish was a dedicated animal lover and raised at least three award-winning border collies, one of which, Bonnie, worked at the IRT as a therapy dog for years. Trish sadly passed away last year.
Jan O’Halloran accepted the Award for Most Improved Handler and Dog Agility Trophy for herself and Chris Dwyer and their dog Beattie.
Kathryn McKellar and her dog Suzie Q won the Terry Watson Memorial Agility Trophy.
Chief Instructor Yve Robinson presented the Francis Luke Rally O Trophy, Intermediate level, to Lois Sampson and her dog Charlie.
A surprised and delighted Paul Gauci accepting the Ron Corringham Memorial Obedience Trophy for the year’s most improved handler and his dog Tacker.
The Rally O Trophy Novice Level was awarded to instructor Peter Nelipa and his new dog Bobby the border collie.
