The Narooma Camera Club wrapped up an eventful year with its annual Christmas dinner and trophy presentation night at Club Narooma on December 13. Thanks go to the club’s staff for the excellent service that they provided.

During the meal, members watched a DVD of over 400 photographs from around Australia.
It was put together for display in the waiting room at the Moruya Districts hospital. More than 400 hundred photos were contributed by members of the Narooma Camera Club and the Eurobodalla Photographic Club.
After dinner, members took part in a couple of quizzes, one of which was to identify well known landmarks from around the world from just a small sections of photographs.
Trophies were presented to those who had accumulated most points in the club’s monthly competitions during the year:
Division A – Shirley Gunter
Division B – Deb Flynn
On December 6, the club held its Image of the Year competition. In order to be eligible for this competition entries must have won either gold or silver awards in the club’s monthly competitions during 2017.
The judge for evening was Peter Robinson, who is the founder of the Narooma Camera Club. Peter has over 50 years experience of photography and specialises in black and white pictures.
His critiquing of the competition entries was delivered with humour and informative, constructive comments. Thanks go to Peter for the time and effort he put into his adjudicating.
The results of the Image of the Year were as follows:
Division A:
Image of the Year – Colin Pass – Grey seal.
Highly commended – Kevin Budds – Bird on a sprinkler.
Highly commended – Colin Pass – Icelandic landscape.
Division B:
Image of the Year – Sue Lawson – Wandering sea pig.
Highly commended – Wendy Fisk – Night fury.
Highly commended – Deb Flynn – Lone barley stalk.
Highly commended – Ally Aitken – Ballintoy harbour.
