Earlier in the week John Kozham and yours truly did some trolling up and down the Wagonga inlet. With only a couple of small tailor caught, we decided to give Fosters bay a go resulting in some nice flathead.
But the big surprise after hooking a small snapper was the tree large kingfish, which followed it up to the boat. John quickly threw a small lure over the side and hooked one, but unfortunately he was only using light gear and lost it.
We weren't the only ones out that day Erica Conkey found the tailor in Wagonga Inlet and caught a nice feed of fish for dinner.
Clive Perry bagged out on the sand flathead south of Montague Island on Saturday with some of the fish in excess of 50 cms. This one pictured went a massive 57 cms.
As usual the Narooma Sport and Gamefishing Club rooms, situated on the inlet near the restaurants, will be open for fish stories, drinks and snacks from 4pm till 9pm on Friday, December 22 and Friday, December 29, being eat-in menu to be decided.
Visitors are most welcome to come along and have a chat with the members.
Catch and Release - A conservation motion that happens most often right before the local fish and game officer pulls over a boat that has caught over it's limit.
Ps The missing angel rings on the Narooma breakwater have been replaced by president Les Waldock.
