A field of 127 players enjoyed very good conditions where the DSR emerged at 72/71. In A Grade Andrew Thompson continued his recent good form with 38 points off his handicap of 7 to head Nigel Roberts on countback, while countback also decided third place for Brendan Warby ahead of Laurie Holmes and Colin Pratt. In B Grade Mark Westwood registered the best score of the day with 41 points off his handicap of 22, four points better than Ron Manly and Wayne Houston on 37 points. In C Grade three players recorded 39 points, with a countback favouring George Matheson off his handicap of 27 ahead of Jim Hoar and Ralph Imberger, the last-mentioned result creating long-awaited pleasure for the correspondent. The nearest-the-pin winners were Simon Carr on 3, Tim Sykes from Highlands on 9, Paul Stokes on 14 and Brett Thompson on 17, while the ball competition went down to all on 34 points.
SATURDAY 23rd DECEMBER
A pleasing holiday field of 114 players again enjoyed good conditions with a resultant DSR of 71/72. In A Grade Terry O'Callaghan had a clear victory with 40 points off his handicap of 14, three better than Chris Brown and Alan Butterworth with Brett Johnson of Beverley Park missing out on countback. In B Grade Grahame Cooke registered 42 points off his handicap of 19 to win by one point from Ian Hamilton from Royal Canberra and the inimitable Anton Galloway. In C Grade a regular visitor from Gungahlin Lakes, Henry Posch, had a day to remember with 48 points off his handicap of 25 , leaving John Willett on 41 points and John Ostlund from Massey Park with 37 points well in his wake. The nearest-the-pin winners were Brett Thompson on 3, Robert Craig from Royal Melbourne on 9, Colin O'Sullivan on 14 and Les Campbell on 17 , while the ball competition went down to all on 33 points.
TUESDAY 26th DECEMBER
A small field of 50 players resulted in one grade and a DSR of 71/72. Top placing was taken by Clinton Krechichwost from Camden Valley with 42 points off a handicap of 15, followed by Bob Kelly who headed Brett Little from Nudgee with 40 points on countback. The nearest-the-pin winners were Robert Sayers on 3, Joel Campbell from Murrumbidgee on 9, Diana Williamson on 14 and Terry O'Callaghan , while the ball competition went down to all on 34 points.
MONDAY 1st JANUARY
A field of 100 players took to the course on the first day of the year where the DSR emerged at 71/72. In A Grade Nathan Orazi from Hurstville had the equal best score of the day with 42 points off his handicap of 14 to win clearly from Perry Pericles also from Hurstville with 39 points and Terry O'Callaghan on 38 points. In B Grade Hugh Crawford registered 42 points also off his handicap of 21, to head Neal Micallef from Hurstville and Warren Somerville from Wagga Country by one point. In C Grade Diana Williamson at last broke through to win with 40 points off her handicap of 29 to win by three points from Marea Clarke on 37 points, with Gil Mott one point further back after heading Henry Posch from Gungahlin Lakes on countback. The nearest-the-pin winners were Jackie Glazier from Settlers Run on 3, Kath Roberts on 9, with Dominic Falk, a two-marker from Goulburn, taking 14 and following it up with a hole-in-one on 17. The ball competition went down to all on 34 points.
THURSDAY 4th JANUARY
A big field of 175 swollen by a large number of holiday-makers to the area played to a consistent DSR of 71, as is reflected in the good scores. In A Grade Ricky Falconer registered the day's best score of 44 points off his handicap of 10 to win by two points from Tim Bunn from RACV Cape Schanck and four points from Tim Jones from Castle Hill. In B Grade Ian Harris finally had the round his recent scores indicated when he had 41 points off his handicap of 19 to win by one point from Cameron Rowley and a regular visitor from Growling Frog, Peter Moore. C Grade was taken out by John Matthews with 42 points off his handicap of 25, well ahead of Charles Anderson from the SGA and Jim Hoar on 38 points. The nearest-the-pin winners were Jason Andrew on 3, Colin Pratt on 9, Stuart Glen from National on 14 and Ricky Falconer on 17, while the ball competition went to 34 points with 17 on the way home.
SATURDAY 6th JANUARY
Another big field of 179 players enjoyed conditions conducive to good golf with a DSR of 72/71. In A Grade former Seahorse Classic winner, Jarrod Meacham from Wagga Country, showed his liking for the course with 41 points off his handicap of 2 in going round in three under par. Also on 41 points was Jackson Dunstan from Heidelberg with one under par off the stick but beaten on countback, while Murray Walpole parred the course in scoring 40 points to take third place. In B Grade Dean Northwood from Goulburn filled first place with 41 points off a handicap of 18 to win by two points from Scott Fraser from Commercial Albury and Gary Leahy, with Paul Davey missing out on countback. The highest score of the day was registered in C Grade by Will Constantine from Federal with 42 points off a handicap of 24, six points better than Alex Gardner and Louise Fox from Wagga Country. The nearest-the-pin winners were Jackson Dunstan on 3, Mitch Jeffery on 9, Brendan Warby on 14 and Mike Shevlin who scored a hole-in-one on 17, while Rod Shepherd holed his second shot to take out the eagle's nest on the 8th.The ball competition went down to all on 33 points.
Bermagui Social Golfers
After a lull in playing due to Xmas/ New year break we were all back on deck. The winner was Graeme Gunn from runner up Andrew Whittaker and in 3rd place on a three-way countback was Charlie Bennett and 4th was Jim Bryan. Hacker of the day went to Michael Brown. Back at the Bermagui Hotel where we had snacks supplied by the new publican we held our presentations and raffles with both the lucky player draw and badge draw being Charlie Bennett. The Meat tray went to Paul Armstrong a visitor and the Veggie tray winner was Mal LeComte. The Pizza Voucher was Andrew Whittaker and the bottles of wine were won by Graeme Sthruthers and Yvonne Bennett.
