Tickets will be on sale 9am-noon outside Dalmeny IGA on Wednesday, January 17 and Friday, January 19 and outside Narooma IGA on Saturday, January 20 and Tuesday, January 23.
Race coordinator John Doyle said the 1000 ducks will be dropped off Narooma Bridge about 10am on Friday, January 26.
“We’re hoping for perfect weather, good crowds and a quick race downstream to the Apex Park boat ramp,” he said.
The first duck across the finishing line wins $1000. The last duck wins $100.
Proceeds will go towards Australian Rotary Health and the Club’s Tertiary Scholarship fund for students from Narooma High.
Australian Rotary Health is Australia's largest non-government funding body of mental illness research and provides funding for research in many health related areas as well as scholarships to support aspiring students in areas such as indigenous health. It is supported by Rotarians Australia-wide.
Donations will also be made to Narooma Surf Club in appreciation of their assistance and to Bermagui CRABS (Cancer Research Advocate Bikers) who lend Rotary the ducks.
