Holiday thefts – There has been a spike in thefts from campers in holiday parks at Narooma and Bermagui over the past week, with Narooma police issuing their standard warning to secure valuables at all times.

Between 11pm on Thursday, January 11 and 8am the next day, unknown persons stole a wallet and mobile phone from a vehicle parked in the caravan park on the Narooma Flat. The same night a motorbike was stolen from the park and also a bicycle.
Sometime after 10.30pm on Saturday, January 13, a number of bicycles, a scooter and fishing rods and reels were stolen from the caravan park at Bermagui.
More thefts – It’s not just caravan parks being targeted by thieves, as unknown persons entered a house on McMillan Crescent, Dalmeny between 6pm on Sunday, January 7 and 8am the next morning, stealing a set of keys to a vehicle. The vehicle was then entered and another set of keys stolen.
Unknown persons also stolen bicycles from a house at Kianga overnight on Thursday, January 11, while someone stole a mobile phone from inside a car parked on the Princes Highway, Narooma sometime between 5pm on Tuesday, January 9 and 6.15am the following morning.
Teen arrested – Police have charged a 16-year-old male with several offences after an alleged break and enter incident at a bottle shop in Narooma around 3.30am on Friday, January 12. He was arrested later that day and charged with three counts of break and enter and steal from motor vehicle.
He was bail refused and will appear at Batemans Bay Children’s Court at a future date.
Head-on collision – Police were called to head-on collision on the Bermagui Cobargo Road at 6.45pm on Saturday, January 13 where one vehicle has appeared to cross the centre line and collide with an oncoming vehicle.
There were however no injuries and nobody trapped, but the vehicles were required to be towed from the scene. There are no further investigations.
Plants located – Police attended an address on Marine Drive, Narooma at 3.30pm on Sunday, January 14 as a result of information about prohibited plants. Officer located and seized one cannabis plant and inquiries continue.
At 11.30am the same day, police attended an address on Fishermans Crescent, Narooma where they located two additional cannabis plants. Inquiries continue.
