Collection boxes were placed near the entrance at Woolworths so that Bermagui residents could donate items for inclusion in hampers packed and distributed by the Narooma Conference of the St Vincent de Paul Society.
A few days before Christmas Conference took delivery of four shopping trolleys full of donations, worth an estimated $600, exceeding the very generous response of Christmas 2016.
This year’s donations included many more “Christmas fare” items, making hampers even more special for recipients.
As a result of Bermagui’s generosity, the conference was able to prepare an additional 11 hampers for deserving families and individuals in our district.
In all, 56 Christmas hampers, many of them containing gifts for younger children, were delivered in the Narooma, Bermagui and Cobargo areas.
Narooma Conference would like to thank Bermagui residents; Horizon Credit Union’s Nicole and Julie; and Woolworth’s manager, Lisa, for their great support.
“Your efforts do you proud and speak volumes for Bermagui’s community spirit.”
