President Niels Bendixsen said the chamber saw such events as a wonderful networking opportunity for all business people from Bodalla to Tilba, not only chamber members.
Proprietors of Narooma’s Betta Home Living, Julian and Liz Barrington-Smith will explain the business opportunity they recognised when they moved to Narooma, and how they made their vision a reality.
Their store is one of only five Betta Home Living stores in NSW with the full Home Living range all under the one roof, from home appliances to bedding and furniture.
“Even our suppliers are blown away by the scale,” Julian said. “We have a bigger floor area than Woolworths in Narooma.”
Liz Barrington-Smith is keen to share their belief in Narooma’s regional potential with others in the area.
Chamber secretary Von Hutcheson said general chamber meetings would now be held every three months in the more interactive format of the Business Buzz, moving around different venues.
“Part of the Buzz format is speed briefing, a bit like speed dating, which is a lot of fun,” she said.
“Each person puts a business card into a hat and during the evening we’ll draw out three cards. If your card is drawn, you will be given one minute to promote your business.”
The Business Buzz at Betta Home Living on Tuesday, March 6 starts at 5.30pm. The chamber will provide a sausage sizzle and drinks.
Mr Bendixsen will also update chamber members on preparations for Narooma Oyster Festival coming up on Saturday, May 5.
