The Narooma RSL sub-branch is planning a special dedication ceremony at the site at 10am on Wednesday, March 21 attended by Shire mayor Liz Innes. All are welcome.
RSL sub-branch president Paul Naylor said a concrete pad for the new memorial is being installed in the next few days ready for the “Avenue of Honour” memorial.
The RSL instigated plans to protect the remaining avenue of Cypress Pines along Dalmeny Drive originally planted in honour of the ANZACs.
Dalmeny resident Peter Bernard also fought for the avenue of cypress trees to be protected.
