Shanna Provost, Eurobodalla Shire author of the Rest Easy Journal – “a down-to-earth approach to dying and social commentator on dying well issues” - will run free information sessions in Moruya and Narooma.
“With medical advances offering so many ways to prolong our life, it’s important to consider our life and spiritual values and create a plan that reflects these values.
“Many people approach me about advance care planning, wanting to know what it entails and how they can write a directive, so I decided to run free sessions at the council’s libraries to help start the conversation during National Advance Care Planning Week.
The sessions will cover:
- What is an advance care plan and directive?
- Why should you know about them?
- Is a directive a legal document?
- How do you write one?
- When should you make a plan?
“None of us know what will happen in the future, and there may be a time when we can’t communicate our values, wants and needs to our medical team,” Ms Provost said.
“The free library sessions will provide simple tools and guidance to help people start their plan.”

Narooma Library – Friday 20 April, 10.30am to 11.30am
