The brigade is inviting all members of the community to come along at 10am to watch a fire call-out demonstration, and find out why it’s a great organisation to join as a volunteer.
The captain of the brigade will provide a commentary as the crew perform a demonstration of what happens when they are called to respond to a fire or emergency incident.
The crew will demonstrate boarding the fire truck, leaving the station and arriving at the scene of a fire where they will undertake fire suppression tasks.
Following the demonstration, members of the brigade will talk about the varied roles that volunteers can undertake once they join the brigade. These roles include active fire-fighting but also many support roles such as community engagement, fundraising, catering, communications, publicity, and administration just to name a few.
A free sausage sizzle will be supplied following the demonstration where everyone attending the event can munch and meet our brigade members, and find out why being part of the Tuross Head Rural Fire Brigade is a fun, friendly and rewarding thing to do.
“If you want to help our Tuross Head community to be fire-ready come and talk to us on Saturday,” Brigade Training Officer and Deputy Captain Michael Jones said.
The Fire Station is in Drake Street Tuross Head next to the water reservoir and Telstra tower.
