Hazard reduction burns from Long Beach to Narooma have been crackling success, RFS chief John Cullen said.

“There was quite a good fuel load, and with drier conditions we were able to complete some areas we hadn’t got to in previous years,” he said.
“It’s been a big effort – we had to carefully resource each burn.”
Mr Cullen said the RFS would be continuing to burn off for as long as conditions held.
“I want to thank the community for their patience,” he said.
“It has been very smoky, but these are strategic burns which we have a responsibility to complete.”
