Ulladulla’s Matthew Gilkes, who this season made his first grade debut for University of NSW Cricket Club, is one of four players named in the national high-performance fielding/wicket-keeping program.

He is joined by Western Australia’s Josh Inglis,  New South Wales’ Austin Waugh and Queensland’s Lewin Maladay in the squad.

Not to be outdone is Engelbrecht, who was announced as part of the national high-performance spin program.

The Western Districts and University of Canberra Cricket Club star is joined by South Australian pair Michael Cormack and Thomas O’Connell, Queensland’s Matt Kuhnemann and New South Wales quartet Daniel Fallins, Arjun Nair, Jason Sangha and Param Uppal.

Also unveiled was the national high-performance pace program, which includes Victorian pair Zak Evans and Will Sutherland, South Australian trio David Grant, Spencer Johnson and Nick Winter, Western Australia’s David Moody, Queensland’s Jack Prestwidge and New South Wales pair Mickey Edwards and Henry Thornton.

These three specialist skills-focused elements of the program will attend the National Cricket Centre in Brisbane, where they will learn from national performance program head coach Troy Cooley and high performance coaches Ryan Harris and Chris Rogers, at different times during the coming months.

The spin program will run from May 28-June 22, fielding and wicket-keeping from August 8-17 and pace bowling August 19-31.

These groups will join the 10 Cricket Australia male national performance squad members, who will be at the Queensland facility from May until early September.

The 10 players are New South Wales quartet Jack Edwards, Ryan Hadley, Baxter Holt and Chad Sammut, South Australian duo Lloyd Pope and Jake Weatherald, Western Australia’s Joshua Phillipe and Cameron Green, Queensland's Nathan McSweeney and Victoria’s Jonathan Merlo.

Recent graduates of the program who have gone on to play for their country include Australian one-day and T20 wicket-keeper Alex Carey, Test batsman Matthew Renshaw and all-rounder Hilton Cartwright.
