It was anticipated that the record 23.8-metre high wave noted off the southern tip of New Zealand just five days earlier might be replicated on Mother’s Day.
Rather than big swell, the single Blue Pointer, two Blue Bottles, and five Blue Balls were greeted by a gentle shore break, blue cloudless skies, and water temperatures of 17°C.
Following a glorious swim to blow out the cobwebs of summer the after swim indulgence of tea andcoffee was complimented by ginger and pistachio gingerbread, and Baker & Williams Butterscotch Schnapps.
Discussion revolved around the different swim locations to be visited over the next eighteen weeks.
