The effects of the recent bushfire could be seen from the field, but the grounds were still in perfect condition, leading to a great day for both players and spectators.
The under 9s put in their best performance so far this year, showing great team work with ball movement, plenty of offloads, and some committed defence. Strong runs from Jack Newbold earned him a couple of tries, and Jack Klose keeps improving every week.
In girls mod league tag, Harmony Cannon was named player of the game for outstanding defence, and Amy Lowery-Rotumah was voted by team mates as player’s player. An excellent performance overall led the team to victory over Tathra 38-14.
Girls mini league tag also had a great game, with the older girls helping out the younger ones. There were lots of great runs and impressive tags.
Both the under 10s and under 14s had impressive wins, with big runs and tricky try scoring efforts making for entertaining football.
The 10s won 40-0, while the 14s proved too strong in defence, keeping the opposition scoreless to win 62-0. Full credit to the Tathra teams for fighting hard right until the final siren in both games.
The final game of the day was the International Girls League Tag and it was a close one.
Special mention to Tara for a stellar performance, but despite their best efforts, Narooma were defeated 14-12.

This week’s feature team is the under 7s white coached by Bryan Breust.
