In a statement on Monday, May 21, police said outages were affecting people trying to call Triple Zero or the Police Assistance Line.
“Outages across the Telstra 3G and 4G network could be impacting people trying to call Triple Zero (000) or the Police Assistance Line (131 444),” police said.
“Until the issue is resolved, those affected should use a phone with another carrier or a landline if needing to call these numbers.
“The advice we have received indicates Telstra customer mobile phone calls to Triple Zero (000) should automatically be connected via another carrier; however, if you are experiencing problems use a landline.
“Please remember to only call Triple Zero (000) if you have an emergency.”
