Luka initiated contact with Dr Flahive a number of months ago to inform her she one day wants to follow in her footsteps and practice sports medicine. Dr Flahive has been the Chief Medical Officer with the NSW Waratahs for 19 years.
Upon receiving contact from Luka, Dr Flahive invited her to come to Sydney to see first hand what it takes to be the doctor for a professional sporting team.
Dr Flahive showed Luka through the Rugby Australia Headquarters, where she bumped into both Nick Phipps and Kurtley Beale. She then treated Luka to a full tour of the inner sanctum of Allianz Stadium.
Luka spent time in the Waratahs dressing room, the medical rooms, and even got down onto the field.
Dr Flahive was extremely generous with her time and showed why she is held in such high regard throughout Australian Rugby.
