The annual South Coast Regional Exhibition of Woodwork invites the public to come and explore the wonders of wood and the woodcrafters art, from 9am to 3pm, at the Central Tilba Halls on the weekend of June 9 and 10. Probus Narooma’s next general meeting will be held at the Narooma Sports Club from 10.15am on Monday May 28. This month’s special guest speaker will be Barry Flanagan, from Monty’s Restaurant. Barry will give an insight into the formation of Monty’s restaurant and its value to the community. Visitors warmly welcomed; why not come and enjoy a cuppa with this very friendly group.
Vinnies needs winter warmers – please! As the air cools in the evenings, with mornings definitely grown cold, Vinnies Narooma has people coming in looking for warm clothing and blankets but are fast running out. Donations of blankets, doonas, and warm clothing for all shapes and sizes gratefully received.
Di Lovatt reports the Uniting Church’s Big Morning Tea was a great success with a lot of delicious food donated, “such variety!”. She said they raised $800 for the cancers council and thanks all involved, including visitors to the region. IGA Dalmeny donated a fruit box for the first prize in the raffle. Raffle winners were: 1st Carolyn Wiseby, 2nd,Kerrie Sawyer, and 3rd Louise Morante.
The Narooma CWA rooms will be open from 9am to 3pm, for the Busking Festival, on Saturday. CWA members are needed to help, any time you can spare is much appreciated. We also need cakes and slices to be served with tea/coffee – drop these in on the day. We are also looking for books and craft items for a trading table to help support the day – donations of these items appreciated. Assistance and questions to Joanne King on 4476 7461.
MACS: Cheryl Djikic will hold an Introduction to Life Drawing workshop on Saturday, May 26. Register with MACS on 4476 5351. With high member-interest since the purchase of a new kiln, MACS will run a workshop about using it on Saturday, June 2.
