The club traveled to Ulladulla to release 249 pigeons for the start of the race.
It was perfect flying weather with minimum wind and clear skies, meaning a good return of birds to their homes.
Manny ‘Gozo’ Byrne came third last week, but this week his birds rocketed home into first place.
Mario ‘Muz’ Magrin squeezed past Darcy ‘River Cottage’ Hoyer’s birds, beating them by a tail feather. Muz finished second, with Darcy in third.
Next week has rain on the forecast for Saturday, so the birds will race on Sunday from Ulladulla.
The following three weeks will see them race from Greenwell Point near Nowra.
