With his charismatic stage presence, his wonderful off-the-cuff humour and his deep velvety voice, Mikelangelo creates a truly transporting and exhilarating experience for his audience; there is no denying he is one of the great Australian showmen of our time.
Mikelangelo is one of the true originals in the Australian music scene, blazing his own path and pursuing his creative spirit wherever it may lead.
With 12 albums and 25 years of international touring under his belt, Mikelangelo has packed houses and received critical acclaim from Melbourne to Montreal, Darwin to Dublin, New York to Budapest, to London and beyond.
Mikelangelo is no stranger to South Coast audiences, having played to big crowds over the years with his long-term band The Black Sea Gentlemen.
With Spectres Of Love, he indulges a completely different side of his musical loves, drawing on blues, gospel, surf music and swamp rock to create an intoxicating sound, with echoes of the best of 50s, 60s and 70s rock with an original and contemporary twist.
Formed in late 2016, Mikelangelo has played huge shows with Spectres Of Love at the Sydney Festival, Canberra Multicultural Festival and St Kilda Festival in Melbourne.
Between them, the group has decades of individual and collective experience around the globe on stage, record and film, from major festivals, awards and critical acclaim in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Europe, US and Canada.
In January this year, Mikelangelo brought Spectres of Love to the South Coast for the first time, playing a four-night run of shows at the newly re-opened Tathra Hotel.
Mikelangelo is excited to return to the South Coast to warm up your winter. The last time he played Murrah Hall, the room was totally packed and the crowd was spilling out the door.
