Bream are hanging around the rock wall near the river mouth at the moment. The best way to target them is casting Gulp soft plastics and Cranka crabs in the deep channel and along the rock wall. Fresh baits like yabbies and worms are also working well.
Flathead have been caught this week targeting the shallows above the hospital rocks and also in the backwaters near Preddy’s Wharf. Gulp soft plastics and Squidgy fish are working well.
Live baits like poddy mullet are also a good option when the fishing is a bit tough.
Estuary perch have been schooling around the bridge and they are great fun to target using walk the dog style surface lures like Bassday Sugapens.
Tuross River
Whiting have been caught around four-ways with freshly pumped nippers proving to be the most productive bait.
A lot of average size flathead are being caught at the front of the boatshed on both bait and soft plastics such as the Gulp swimming mullet.
The oyster racks are producing some great bream. Lightly weighted grubtail soft plastics and 60mm Daiwa double clutch hard bodies are working well.
Rocks and Beaches
Salmon and tailor are still on the bite. Paternosta gang hook surf rig and pilly’s are working a treat.
Windsock beach and the break wall are both fishing well. Plenty of drummer are coming in off the rocks, with Congo and Tuross areas both fishing well using Cunji.
Some quality bream are also being caught in the same areas on peeled prawns and beach worms.
Squid are being caught at both south Broulee and Moruya heads using IKA and Yamashita jigs.
Unfortunately due to the big swell as of late we did not get any offshore reports this week.
