The set subject for the night was “Typically Australian Theme” with a lot of interesting shots ranging from animals, firefighters, Aussie Icon shots, homesteads, crocs and more. Overall there was a great variety of shots.
As always our Open Subject in both grades had some very interesting and award-winning images.
We would also like to thank Gillianne Tedder for judging our May competition and for her fantastic talk afterwards.
She gave us a presentation on photos at the Snowies and the use of polarising filters: something I’m sure we all got inspired by, so thanks again Gillianne.
Our subject for June is Movement. This is always a popular one.
Try panning fast-moving items such as cars or motorbikes or alternatively use a slow shutter speed to get the feeling of movement.
Remember that movement can be portrayed by freezing action with a fast shutter speed.
People, animals, vehicles, waterfalls and machinery all make for good subject material.
