Narooma VIEW Club was established in 1978. The club now has 55 members who support the Smith Family’s Learning for Life program. Members meet on the fourth Friday of the month. It is an opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas while forming lasting friendships with interesting women.
The Narooma VIEW Club connection with The Smith Family raises money through its monthly luncheons, book stalls at Dalmeny Markets, raffles, Trading Table and Christmas wrapping at the Bega shopping centre.
Special activities are also organised regularly for VIEW members such as Walking with VIEW, bus trips, movies and lunch group.
Learning for Life is a program offered to families experiencing financial disadvantage, whose children can fall behind with their learning, leaving them more vulnerable to experiencing hardship themselves later in the life.
The Smith Family’s Learning for Life program recognises that disadvantaged children need extra support to stay at school and go on to further studies or a job.
Learning for Life helps create better futures for children in need by providing financial assistance so their families can afford the cost of their child’s education. It also offers access to the Smith Family’s range of educational programs.
Last year VIEW Clubs collectively raised more than $1 million and volunteered more than 50,000 hours of their time for the charity.
