An excellent field of 157 players teed of in fine conditions and the course played to a DSR of 72/71. In A Grade Robert Van Delft from Wagga played the course in one over par off his handicap of 7 to post 42 points, just enough to defeat Glenn Mood on countback. Ben Byrne, also from Wagga, finished third with 40 points on countback from Andrew Thompson. In B Grade Anton Galloway continued his recent good form to finish on top with 41 points off his handicap of 17 to finish three points ahead of three players on 38 points where countbacks favoured Ron Manly and Bill Swan with Peter Elliott missing out. C Grade was the domain of visitors from Mollymook where Bernard Jones took out first place with 44 points off his handicap of 36, followed by Dany Gruosso on 41 and Don Crotty on 40 points.The nearest-the-pin winners were Harrison Savage from Sale on 3, Vince Harper on 9, Terry Pickles on 14 and Wayne Houston on 17 while the ball competition went down to 33 points with 18 home.
FRIDAY, JUNE 8
A field of 112 players hit off in very overcast conditions in the Seahorse Fourball. The scratch winners, with 41 points off the stick, were Robert Van Delft and Jarrod Meacham from Wagga, followed on 39 points by Josh Shortis and Adrian Constantini from Heidelberg who edged out the Young pairing of Alan Wilder and Geoff Walker. The net event resulted in a four-way countback on 47 points where Anthony Newling from Wagga and Adam Gatford from Tumbarumba prevailed over the Wagga pair of David Foster and Alan De Jong, with Rustin Emery from Gold Creek and Damien Dale from Tura Beach and the Wagga pair of Colin Peisley and Glenn Maslin missing out. The nearest-the-pin winners were Josh Russo from Cumberland on 3, Mark Field from Grange on 9, Richard Nicholson from Avondale on 14 and Rustin Emery on 17, while the ball competition went down to 43 points.
Seahorse Classic
SUNDAY, JUNE 10
In A Grade on a course where the DSR was 73/72 Fred Yousiph from Cumberland won the gross with a score of 72, two better than Harrison Savage who trumped Josh Shortis from Heidelberg on countback. Jason Wills took out the net with a score of 70 off his handicap of 6, one ahead of Joel Campbell from Cranbourne. Greg Murphy from Russell Vale won the B Grade gross with a score of 79, followed by Matthew Maxwell from Kiama who headed Peter Zotti from Wagga on 81 on countback. John Fleming from The Grange won the net with a score of 70 off his handicap of 12, followed by Michael Dalton from Gungahlin Lakes on 71. The C Grade gross was taken out by Dale Easterby from Gungahlin Lakes with 82, one better than Richard Nicholson from Avondale. Narooma's Hayden Lang won net with 70 off his handicap of 13, one better than Gordon Haughie from RMC Duntroon who headed Christian Schmid from Wagga on countback. The long drive winners in the three grades were Josh Russo from Cumberland, Terry Foster from Federal and David Senior from Cromer. The nearest-the-pin winners were Rhett Pinder from Melton Valley on 3, Harrison Savage again on 9, Leigh Holmes from Sale on 14 and Milan Manojlovic from The Grange on 17, while the ball competition went to 77 net.
MONDAY, JUNE 11
Narooma's propensity for fine weather permitted a satisfactory conclusion to the prestigous tournament where the DSR emerged at 73/72. In A Grade Josh Shortis from Heidelberg won the gross with 72 ahead of Jarrod Meacham from Wagga on 74 who headed Josh Russo from Cumberland on countback. The net was won by Joel Campbell from Cranbourne with 69 off his handicap of 7, one better than John Simic from Sale who headed the Wagga pair of Matthew Longmore and Anthony Newling on countback. The B Grade gross was won for the third day in succession by Greg Murphy from Russell Vale with a score of 77, three better than David Foster from Wagga. The net was won by John Fleming from The Grange with a score of 69 off his handicap of 12, followed by Greg Corby from The Grange, who prevailed over Narooma's Hayden Lang on countback. The C Grade gross was taken out by Gary Hoobin from Heidelberg with a score of 83, two better than Peter Aroney from Bexley. The net was won on countback with a score of 70 by Ross Kelly from Redcliffe ahead of Charles Craig from Royal Melbourne. The long drives were won by Narooma's Jordan Lang, James Toomey from Links Shell Cove and Tim Carswell from Wagga. The nearest-the-pin winners were Matthias Larsson from Wodonga on 3, Gavin Ballinger from Sale on 9, Matthew Longmore on 14 and Peter Wilsmore from Heidelberg on 17, while the ball competition went down to 76 net.
The winner of the 2018 Seahorse Classic was Harrison Savage from Sale with a score of 225, thus defending his title. Runner-up was Josh Shortis on 227 on countback from Mark Stanford from National. The net was won by Joel Campbell on 217, one better than Fred Yousiph from Cumberland. Greg Murphy took out B Grade with a score of 234 , four ahead of Bradley Wills from Links Shell Cove. The net was won by John Fleming with 213 with Hayden Lang on 216.The C Grade gross was taken out by Peter Aroney on 261 with Martin Kenny from Mollymook in second place on 268. Anthony Craig from Royal Melbourne headed Daniel Gall from Sale by four shots to win the net with his score of 219.
Narooma Ladies
On Monday, June 4 the ladies played a 4BBB Stableford Competition.. The winners were Deidre Landells and Robyn Giblett with 45 points ocb. Runners up were Maddie Robinson and Swinger (Deidra Landells) with 45 points.
Balls went to 42 points ocb.
Due to the very welcome rain there was no play on Wednesday and the Monthly Medal Round has been postponed until next week (June 13).
Our triumphant 2018 Narooma Ladies Pennants Team who were runners up in FSC&TGA Finals Playoff recently are Di Wilkes, Tina Wilson, Pam Shepherd, Jennifer Walker and Janice Eardley. Absent for the featured picture were Deidre Landells, Chris Hendra and Maureen Casswell.
Bermagui Country Club
Results for Thursday, June 7
The club welcomed a number of visiting players from The Grange and a good field teed off in superb weather for a 2 man Aggregate Stableford competition.
The winning pair were Nick Stolk (hcp 16) and Bill McKenzie (hcp 14) with an excellent score of 69 points.
Second spot went to Santiago Valle and Neil Rutherford on 68 shading George Skoutarides and Mick Carr by countback to Ray Stephens and Peter Buttrey who were all on 67.
Results for Saturday, June 9
Some good scores in A grade today and the winner was Henry Loth (hcp 3) scoring a creditable 41 points edging James Thomson (hcp 13) on 40 points. Then followed Aaron Shearing (hcp +2) from Murrumbidgee GC on 39.
Greg Boyle (hcp 17) showed good form to win B grade on countback to Jim Manton (hcp 18) both scoring 34. Next on 33 was Rob Cattanach (hcp 21).
Greg Cummins (hcp 22) won C grade with 39 points then came Peter Daykin (hcp 32) on 37 and Justin Higginbotham (hcp 30) air swinging his way to 32.
Eagles were landed by Henry Loth on the par 5 second and Aaron Shearing on the par 5 ninth hole.
Club News
The 1st round of the mid-year eclectic competition will be on Thursday, June 28. For competition bookings phone Chris Hearn at the Pro Shop on 6493 4657.
Bermagui Social Golfers
A lovely warm morning greeted players for a Stableford event over 9 holes. The winner was Graeme Struthers back from John Mikola and third was Jim Bryan. NTP on the 11th was a new player John Griodeni from George St. Hacker of the day went to Dave Nelson. Back at the Bermagui Hotel where a beautiful lunch was supplied by the publican there were presentations and raffles with the lucky player draw being won by Mal LeComte and the badge draw by Jeff Nielson. All the prizes went to visiting patrons in the Palm Bar Bistro.
Next weekend is The Tri Nations competition against Bega, and Eden at Tathra Golf Club. The bus will be leaving Bermagui at 7am with breakfast supplied when we arrive and lunch during presentations.

Tuross Head Country Club
Tuross Head Country Club Saturday stableford event resulted in a win for low handicap golfer Jayden Monopoli with a relatively high score of 39 stableford points.
Jayden was followed by Peter Garn with 38 points.
Brenden Taylor not only handed in a card of 36 points but also had the satisfaction of scoring a hole in one on the 4th hole.
Derek Hoare and Martin Booth filled the remaining rostrum positions with each also scoring 36 points.
Nearest the pin awards went to:
A grade golfer Brenden Taylor on the 4th with his hole in one. Dave Bray was closest on the 6th with 2.13m and Colin Houghton won the 7th with 63cm.
B grade best on the 4th was Peter Mostyn with 2.99m. Bruce Cleeve was closest on the 6th with 98cm and Peter Nikolic was awarded the 7th with 8.52m.
C grade best on the 4th was David Dow with 2.67m. Mick Elfar won the 6th with 2.16m and Michael Kermode the 7th with 13.28m.
Thursday's medley stableford event was won by Ian Miller with 36 points ahead of Colin Houghton and Adam Wilson both on 35 points followed by Steve Johnston who finished with 34.
Nearest the pins were won by Steve Swanbury on the 4th, Ian McManus on the 6th and Bruce Lidbury on the 7th.
A very productive working bee was held during the week when more than 20 volunteers laid a concrete pathway down the 2nd tee. This follows previous pathways that have been completed on the 5th and 9th fairways and is another contribution to the improvements that have been added to the Tuross Head Country Club course at regular intervals.
