The 23rd Far South Coast Woodwork Show was held at Central Tilba on the Queen's Birthday long weekend. Narooma, Eurobodalla and Bega Woodies organised the show and more than 550 people saw displays of woodworking techniques, including wood turning and making child’s name plaques, toy making, fine woodwork in the small hall and sales of woodwork by members and local craftsmen. The show has been held at the community halls each June since 1995.

Two prizes are awarded - Best in Show and the People’s Choice (the latter voted on by the public). This year, Eric Simes of the Eurobodalla club, won Best in Show with a hall table made from recycled merbau and ironbark inlaid with Norfolk Island and huon pine.
People’s Choice was won by Helmut Delrieux, with a document box made from a river red gum burl, with huon pine, which included handmade pens and a pen box. The first prize in the raffle (the toolbox and Bunnings voucher) was won by Patricia Culmone, of Dalmeny; the walnut platter was won by Carla White from Narooma and the exquisite jewellery box was won by Sharon Morrison of Lilly Pilly.
Finally, special mention to Brian Moore, of Kianga, who asked if he could bring his exhibition of model railway bridges. Brian painstakingly constructs all the bridges and has shown them at model railway events across the state. Brian and his wife attended the whole show, attracting quite an audience as he explained both the history and techniques involved in his work.
