The Southern Region Business Enterprise Centre program builds on students self confidence, resilience and enthusiasm for school, organiser Julia Wilson said.
"They took to the activities with so much enthusiasm,” she said. “It is nice to get teens off screens and into the bush, especially in a community project. They have done a tremendous job and should be really proud.”
They used small hand tools to plant, and water crystals to keep plants hydrated. They also removed the highly invasive and debilitating weed lantana from the school.
The council’s project officer Emma Patyus was impressed with their commitment and enthusiasm.
