Mr Hextell, who owns both Jason’s Home Repairs and Chicken on the Run, told the Narooma News he would fight to keep the branch in town.
Mr Hextell questioned the NAB’s statement that 72 per cent of Narooma customers banked at either the Batemans Bay or Bega branch.
“I’d love to see where they got those figures from,” he said. “I come to the bank three times a week, and I can never just walk up to the counter.”
Mr Hextell has contacted both Eden-Monaro MP Mike Kelly and Bega MP Andrew Constance about the closure, and said he was organising a town meeting with other small-business owners to discuss the closure.
More details as they come to hand.
