A field of 129 players enjoyed pleasant conditions with a resultant DSR of 71. In A Grade Terry O'Callaghan registered the best score of the day with 42 points of his handicap of 13 to win by one point from Scott Kennedy.
Robert Ackling was four points further back on 37 in third place. Gary Leahy took out B Grade with 40 points off his handicap of 19 on countback from Gordon Roberts with Graeme Donohoe one point further adrift in third place. In C Grade Allan Chisholm prevailed with 39 points off his handicap of 24, followed by Graham Mumme on 38 points and Kevin Evans from Ryde-Parramatta on 37 points, with Sam Nicholls missing out on countback. The nearest-the-pin winners were David Bennett on 3, Paul Stokes on 9, Robert Ackling on 14 and Jon Guyver on 17, while the ball competition went down to all on 34 points.
SATURDAY, JULY 7
A field of 111 players teed off in ever-deteriorating conditions in the July Monthly Medal and the first qualifying round for the Captain's Trophy, as was clearly reflected in the disparate DSR of 72/74. A Grade was taken out by Richard Goodridge with 71 net off his handicap of 9 on countback from Bob Piper, with Michael Turner one shot further back in third place. In B Grade Kathleen Roberts recorded the best score of the day with 70 net off her handicap of 22, one better than Andrew Vormeulen and two better than Michael Commins.
In C Grade Ian Lowe continued his good form with 71 net off his handicap of 31 to win by one shot from Jason Davis. Geoff Broadfoot took the third placing with 74 net. The nearest-the-pin winners were Bill Durnan on 3, Robert Ackling on 9, Scott Ker on 14 and Neil Robertson on 17, while the ball competition went down to all on 77 net.
An unusually large number of four players tied for the Monthly Medal with 71 net but the countback favoured Andrew Vormeulen over the three others.
Narooma Ladies
On Monday, July 2 the Ladies played a Bisque Par Event where it is up to the golfer to decide on which holes to use their handicap strokes.
The Winner on +5 was Judy Anderson and Robyn Giblett was Runner up with +4.
On Wednesday, July 4, apart from being American Independence Day (our thanks to Ladies Captain Chris Fader for showering us with American chocolates), was our July Monthly Medal/Stroke Round.
For the third month in a row, again the Monthly Medal resulted in a tie, with Sylvia Donohoe, Chris Fader and Maureen Casswell all scoring Nett 73. They will therefore play off for the Medal next month.
The DPP on 9th Hole was won by Sylvia Donohoe.
The Putting Competition was won by Dorelle Monteith with 25 putts.
The Division 1 Winner was Sylvia Donohoe with 73 Nett ocb from Runner Up Chris Fader.
The Division 2 Winner was Maureen Casswell with Nett 73. The Runner Up was Marion Brooks with Nett 74.
The NTP Winners were Ronda Walters on 3rd Hole for Div 3 and Lorraine McCarthy on 17th Hole for Div 2.
Balls went to Nett 78.
A separate Stableford Competition was also played and the Winner was Robyn Giblett with 36 points. Balls went to 32 points.
Last month’s (June) Medal Winner is Tina Wilson who was tied with Ris Cheale.
A reminder that next Wednesday, July 18 the Narooma Lady Golfers will be hosting their Annual Charity Day with VRA the Charity for this year. The Competition will be a Four Person Ambrose at 8.30am for a 9am Shotgun Start. Entry will be $15 per person.

Tuross Head Country Club
Each month Tuross Head golfers compete for a monthly medal in each of three divisions.
On the first Saturday in July the individual winners then play for the annual Medal of Medals award.
This year the winner was Steve Johnston with a low net score of 68 strokes.
Divisional winners were:
A grade best was Brad Doolan who also returned a net score of 68 and finished second in the major event on a countback.
Bruce Lidbury with 73 strokes was second in his division with Jason Nikolic filling third spot with 74 net strokes.
B grade winner was Russell Taylor with 72 strokes ahead of Andrew Gordon and Bruce Martin, who both handed in cards of 73.
C grade division produced the overall medal winner Steve Johnston with a net 68 with Herb Muriwai, 72, and Peter Johnston filling the minor placings.
Brad Doolan produced the lowest off the stick score with 75 strokes.
Ian McManus had the best round in the putting competition and Jason Nikolic won the Tuross Motel Golden Shot with a close 63 centimetres on the second hole.
Nearest the pins:
A grade best on the 4th hole was Aaron Monopoli with 30 centimetres.
Brad Doolan was closest on the 6th with 1.10 m and Dave Bray won the 7th hole with 6.11 m.
B grade golfer Peter McRae won the 4th hole with 2.11 m.
Peter Nikolic was awarded the 6th with 7.36 m and Kevin Dukes was best on the 7th hole with 5.54 m.
C grade player Peter Johnston won the 4th hole with 98 centimetres and Ian Kingston was best on the 7th hole 6.25 m.
Next Saturday's competition is the Scoty stableford event.
Thursday's medal stableford competition was won by Christopher Earl with a high 49 points ahead of Ian Kingston 38 and Brad Doolan and Bruce Lidbury who both finished on 34 stabeford points.
Nearest the pins were won by Brad Doolan on the 4th hole, Roger Chappell won the 6th and Brad Doolan was also successful on the 7th hole.

Results for Thursday, July 5 - Stableford
The A grade winner today was Wayne Buick (hcp 2) with a best of the day 42 points. Runner up was Bill McKenzie (hcp 14) on 41 points. Then followed Paul Revill (hcp 12) on 34.
Graeme Struthers (hcp 17) topped B grade with 39 points. Roy Matthews (hcp 16) was next on 38 and then came Bill Tyson (hcp 21) on 35.
Mark Thomas (hcp 34) won C grade with 38 points then followed Charlie Bennett (hcp 27) on 36 points just shading James Bryan (hcp 30) on 35.

Our congratulations go to Rob Gammage on his July Medal win. Rob achieved the top result, playing off 20 handicap returning with a net score of 72.
The A grade win went to Paul Revill (hcp 13) scoring 74. Runner up was Wayne Buick (hcp 1) on 75. Third place in A grade went to Sean Lingard (hcp 15) with 78.
Ray Stephens (hcp 20) won B grade with a score of 76. Runner up after countback was David Hall (hcp 18) shading Paul Batten (hcp 16) both scoring 78.
In C grade John Stichbury (hcp 23) had the win with 73 shading Guy Lingard (hcp 24) on 75 and Bill Tyson (hcp 23) on 78.
Lowest off the stick today was Wayne Buick with net 76.
Club News
On Sunday, July 15 Dad’s Army are having a Christmas in July 4 person ambrose (mixed) event with a BBQ at the conclusion.
The Far South Coast Vets will play at Bermagui on Friday, July 27.
The 1st round of the Narmorgui will be played at Moruya Golf Club on Sunday, July 29.

Bermagui Ladies
Maggie Hayes, Lynn Ponsford, Lesley Ashton and Lynette Manton played at Federal Golf course in Canberra on Thursday and they won the day with the best 2 scores counting. The girls had 87 pts. Maggie also won the longest drive.
On Monday we played the back nine holes and the winner with 24 pts was Nerida Holzhauser. Runner up Maggie Hayes 21 pts. Ball to Audrey Cook 18 pts.
Wednesday was the 6th Monthly Medal and it was won by Elsbeth Cripps with 75 nett. NTP 6th Fran Vercoe, 8th Vicki Hummel, 15th Maggie Hayes.
Winner Trady Howarth 78 nett. Runner up Lynette Manton 78 nett. Balls to Lynn Ponsford 80 nett, Kim Collingham 80 nett, Lesley Ashton 81 nett, Irene Putaansuu 81 nett, Pat Jones 82 nett and Brenda Whiffen 82 nett.

Bermagui Social Golfers
A lovely sunny morning as we played a Stableford event over 9 holes. The winner was Antony O'Conner on a count back from runner up Len Murphy and third was Glen Van Dyke on a count back from 4th Michael Brown. NTP on the 11th was Kiwi Rowe, his only good shot for the day as he was Hacker of the day.
We then met back at the Pub where we had a beautiful lunch supplied by the publican. We held our presentations and raffles with the lucky player draw being won by Glen Van Dyke and the badge draw went to Cameron Bennett. Meat tray went to Jim Bryan and the Veggie Tray was won by Andrew Whittaker and taking the Pizza Voucher was Michael Brown. The bottles of wine were won by Charlie Bennett and the other bottle went to Terry Buckley.
